As a former domestic violence victim I find that reaching out to others through my poetry may be of some help to others.  There are many victims of Domestic Violence in the world today.  Not only women, but men as well.  Most men are just to proud to have a woman arrested for hitting them, they feel it makes them less of a man.  It does not.  If a child sees the mother hit the father or significant other that child will think that is the way it should be.  Children should not have to be subjected to the violence in their own home.
